Quick answer
On a daily-renewing plan, speed drops to the reduced rate shown on the plan page (for example 512 Kbps) once the day's full-speed allowance is used, and comes back the next day. On any plan, a weak signal, a congested cell or a 3G fallback can slow things down: try another partner network from the plan page.
The usual causes
- Daily allowance used. Daily plans list "then unlimited at X Kbps". Buy a bigger daily tier, or wait for the next day.
- Wrong network. Where a plan has several partners, one may be faster where you are. Switch manually (Network Selection on iPhone, Network operators on Android).
- 3G fallback. Make sure the line is allowed to use 4G/LTE or 5G in its settings (Voice & Data on iPhone, Preferred network type on Android).
- Busy places and buildings. Stadiums, old-town centres and basements are slow for everyone.
Frequently asked questions
Do fixed-data plans slow down?
No. A fixed-data plan runs at full speed until the data is used up, then stops; you can top it up from My eSIMs.
Is 5G included?
Where the partner network and your phone both support it, yes; the plan page shows each network's technology.
